We started Cosmic Blade Citadel in 2018 above a ramen shop on Dunbar Street, hunched over three monitors arguing about damage rotations. The name stuck; the arguments never stopped. Today we are a four-person editorial team that treats every guide like patch notes: tested, dated, and revised the moment the meta shifts.
No affiliate walls, no auto-playing trailers, no ranking a game higher because a publisher asked. Just careful play, honest writing, and a comment section we actually read at 2 a.m. after a raid.

How a Citadel guide gets made
Every post follows the same four-step ritual before it earns a spot in the archive.

Play until it hurts
We log 20–60 hours per feature, dying to the same mechanic on purpose to understand its timing, tells, and hard counters.

Break down the numbers
Damage rotations, gear thresholds, and frame windows get pulled into a shared sheet so the advice survives scrutiny, not just one lucky run.

A second editor re-runs the strategy from scratch using only the draft. If they cannot clear it, the guide goes back to the bench.

About the blog
We ship two feature posts a week, typically Tuesday and Friday mornings Pacific time. Boss guides and build guides go up first; esports meta reports follow the tournament calendar. Breaking patch coverage can land any day the servers do.
No. We do not run affiliate links, and no publisher has ever paid us to rank or review a game. If we ever test review code, we say so at the top of the post. Our only funding comes from optional reader memberships.
Using our guides
Every post carries a version tag and a last-updated date near the title. After a major balance patch we aim to revisit affected guides within about five days and add a short changelog so you can see exactly what shifted.
Drop a comment or email us the patch number and your character sheet. We prioritize revisions for guides that broke due to balance changes, and we will usually post an interim workaround within a day or two while we retest the full build.
Community & contributing
Yes. We take on a couple of freelance contributors each season. Send a short pitch and a link to something you have written or a build you have theorycrafted. We pay per published feature and edit collaboratively, never in isolation.
Right in the comments under each post, which we genuinely read and reply to. We keep moderation tight and the vibe friendly — bad-faith flaming gets removed, honest disagreement and better strategies are always welcome.
